AI-generated overview

Fetches timestamped transcripts from YouTube videos given a video ID or URL.

What it does
This skill retrieves captions from a YouTube video and outputs them as timestamped transcript entries. It accepts a bare video ID or a full YouTube or youtu.be URL. It works with both auto-generated and manually created captions, provided the video has captions available.
When to use it
Use it when you need the spoken text of a YouTube video for summarization, quoting, or analysis. It fits cases where a video has captions and you want a plain timestamped transcript rather than watching or downloading the video.
Requirements
Node.js with npm to install dependencies from package.json, network access to YouTube, and a video that has captions or transcripts available. It ships an executable script, transcript.js.
