Remote MCP server that logs AI agent model and tool call costs and reports spend per run, tool, model and day.
What you can do
Log model and tool call costs, one event per call or as an OpenTelemetry OTLP/JSON trace export, and get running totals for the run and for today
Report cost per run, per tool, per model and per day, scoped to a single run or to everything under an API key
Get a plain-English weekly summary of the last 7 days: total spend, top runs, top tools, top models and busiest day
Check today's usage for a key or IP and see the paid upgrade option
When to use it
Useful when you want an assistant to track and report what its own model and tool calls cost, or to summarize a week of agent spend without building your own accounting. It fits teams already producing OpenTelemetry traces or wanting quick per-run cost breakdowns.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package, environment variables or headers are declared. A free API key is needed for the weekly report and for key-wide cost reports; without a key, reports are limited to a single run_id. Free tier allows 500 calls per day.
Before you install
Cost data is sent to a third-party hosted service, and usage is tracked per API key or IP. Reports are read-only, but logging writes cost events to the service. The upgrade tool points to a $9/month paid plan; no payment is taken by the tools themselves. Free tier shows 7 days of history, Pro 30.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.botrecipe%2Fcostlog/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Log what your agent's model and tool calls cost, then get the running total for the run and for today. Pass events (one per call, up to 500) or an OpenTelemetry OTLP/JSON trace export as otel (gen_ai.usage.input_tokens / output_tokens / gen_ai.request.model are read; trace id becomes run_id). Give cost_usd per call, or tokens plus your own per-million prices; nothing is guessed. Optional caps: run_cap_usd and daily_cap_usd. Free watch-only returns would_alert when a cap is crossed; Pro posts one alert per day to alert_webhook. Never blocks or changes your agent.
Cost per run, per tool, per model and per day. Without an API key pass run_id (one run). With a key: everything on that key. Free shows 7 days, Pro 30.
