Tracks an agent's cloud sandbox sessions, flags idle or over-age ones, estimates idle cost, and returns kill calls.
What you can do
Report running sandbox sessions on a heartbeat and get back which are idle past a threshold or over their max lifetime, with idle cost at your hourly rates and suggested actions
Review idle flags and idle-time cost per provider from previously tracked sessions, for one fleet or every fleet on an API key
Save per-fleet rules such as idle threshold, max lifetime, default hourly rates by provider and an alert webhook (Pro; free returns a preview only)
Get a plain-English weekly summary of sandboxes watched, idle counts, idle cost and kill calls returned or that would have been
Check today's usage for a key or IP and see the paid upgrade option
When to use it
Useful when an assistant runs or manages cloud sandboxes on providers such as E2B, Vercel, Daytona or Modal and you want to spot idle or long-lived sessions and their cost before they keep billing.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no local package, environment variables or headers are declared. A free API key is needed for the weekly report and for fleet-wide reporting; without a key, reporting falls back to the fleet passed in the call. Network access to the hosted endpoint.
Before you install
The server receives your sandbox session details and hourly rates, and Pro rules can include an alert webhook. It returns ready-to-run kill calls rather than executing them, so acting on them deletes sandbox sessions. Paid features are tied to a $9/month upgrade; the free tier is limited to 500 calls per day.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.botrecipe%2Ftimer/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Send your agent's running sandbox sessions (up to 200; call it on a heartbeat, e.g. every 5 minutes) and get back which are idle past your threshold or over their max lifetime, the dollars idle time has cost at the hourly rates you pass, and what to do. Pro acts: returns a ready-to-run kill call per idle sandbox for its provider (E2B kill, Vercel Sandbox stop, Daytona stop, Modal terminate) and POSTs one alert per sandbox to your webhook. Free watch-only returns would_kill and sends nothing. We never hold provider keys and never kill anything ourselves: your agent runs the call with its own key.
Which sandboxes were flagged idle and what idle time cost, per provider, from what track_sessions has seen. Without an API key pass fleet. With a key: every fleet on it. Free shows 7 days, Pro 30.

set_idle_rules
Pro: save the rules track_sessions applies to a fleet: idle_minutes threshold, max_lifetime_minutes, default rates_per_hour by provider, and alert_webhook. Free returns a preview of the rules and saves nothing (pass the same values on each track_sessions call instead).
Plain-English summary of the last 7 days: sandboxes watched, how many sat idle, dollars idle time cost at your rates, kill calls returned (Pro) or that would have been (free). Read-only; sends nothing. Needs a free API key.
Takes no parameters.
