Overview

AI-generated overview

A remote MCP server that scans agent-to-agent task handoffs, flags stalled or failing tasks, and reports nudges and reassigns.

What you can do
Handoff Watch provides four tools for monitoring tasks that agents hand to each other. scan_handoffs takes a list of handed-off tasks and returns which are stalled (claimed or handed over but untouched for stall_minutes) or failing (blocked or failed fail_limit times) along with suggested actions. nudge_log lists recent nudges and reassigns, or would-nudges on the free tier, for one board or all boards on your key. weekly_report drafts a plain-English seven-day summary, and usage_and_upgrade shows daily usage and an upgrade link.
When to use it
Useful when multiple agents pass tasks between each other and you want an assistant to spot handoffs that have gone quiet or are repeatedly failing. It is meant to sit alongside Offhand, so it fits workflows already using that task tooling.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint at handoff.cloudforbots.com; no packages, environment variables, headers or authentication are declared. It refers to a key or IP for usage tracking, and network access to the endpoint is required.
Before you install
You pass your agents' task data to a third-party remote service. The free tier is limited to 500 calls per day, and nudges and reassigns are Pro features; the upgrade link points to a paid $9/month plan. weekly_report is described as read-only and sends nothing.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Handoff Watch in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.botrecipe%2Fhandoff/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

Tools

scan_handoffs

Pass the tasks your agents handed each other (e.g. the result of Offhand list_todos) and get back which are stalled or failing and what to do. A task is stalled when it is claimed (in_progress) or handed over but untouched for stall_minutes, and failing when it is blocked or has failed fail_limit times. Ladder: nudge the assignee, nudge again, then reassign to a backup agent (or ask the person). Pro acts: records each nudge with a cooldown so nobody is pinged twice, and POSTs the nudge to the agent's webhook if you give one. Free watch-only takes no action and returns would_nudge / would_reassign. It never changes a task in Offhand itself and never takes a task another agent holds; reassigning returns an Offhand add_task call for your agent to make.
