Overview

AI-generated overview

Remote MCP server that lets an assistant look up nutrition facts for Japanese restaurant chain menu items and packaged foods, and total them up.

What you can do
Search menu items and packaged foods by name, size, category or genre and get their nutrition facts, with source documents per chain. List covered restaurant chains, stores and packaged-food makers, their item counts, published nutrients and data fetch dates. Add up nutrition for a chosen set of items, such as a meal or a day, flagging nutrients some items do not publish. Report a missing chain or menu item to the site operator, with only the chain, item and note stored.
When to use it
Useful when someone wants calorie or nutrient figures for Japanese chain restaurant dishes or packaged foods, or wants to total a meal or day from those items. Also handy for checking which chains and nutrients are covered before relying on the data.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key or header is declared. Network access to the provider's endpoint is needed.
Before you install
Search queries that return no results are counted anonymously, with the query text and chain, to decide which chains to add. The request_missing tool sends a chain, item and note to the site operator, so use it only when something was genuinely wanted and not found. Nutrient totals can be underestimates when items omit some nutrients. Data comes from third-party chains and makers and may be out of date; check the fetch dates.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Japan Restaurant Calories in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/dev.omikuji%2Fcalories/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

search_menu

Search menu items

Search menu items of Japanese restaurant chains and stores, and packaged foods of Japanese food makers, and get their nutrition facts. Queries that return no results are counted anonymously (the query text and chain only) to decide which chains to add. query matches item name, size, category, genre and chain name (Japanese; spaces mean AND; katakana/hiragana and full/half width are treated alike; common chain nicknames like ケンタ, マック, サイゼ work). Combine with chain / genre / kcal range. Use nutrient to find items rich in a nutrient (only chains that publish it). Default order: with nutrient, by that nutrient descending; else with a query, by how well the item name matches ("relevance"); otherwise by kcal ascending. total includes discontinued items (listed last), so it can be larger than item_count in list_chains. Each item has an id for sum_items, a page url, and the chain's source_file.

sum_items

Total a meal

Add up nutrition for a set of items (a meal, a day) using ids from search_menu. Nutrients that some items do not publish are reported in incomplete, because their total is an underestimate.

list_chains

List covered chains

List the restaurant chains, stores and packaged-food makers covered (makers have type: packaged_food_maker), with item counts (current items only), which nutrients each chain publishes and when the data was fetched. query filters by chain name and also returns each chain's source document URL.

Parametersquery

request_missing

Request a missing chain or item

Tell the site operator that a restaurant chain or menu item is missing. Use only after search_menu / list_chains could not find it AND the user actually wanted it. One request per chain or item. Only the chain, item and note are stored (no personal information is needed or kept). Requests are counted (not shown publicly) and used to decide what to add next. Some chains do not publish nutrition values at all, so a request does not guarantee coverage.
