Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Legible Check in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.EzeAlfaro%2Flegible-check/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

legible-check — pay-per-call data tools for AI agents (x402 + MCP)

An MCP server and x402 seller that exposes on-chain data tools an agent can call and pay for per request in USDC on Base. No signup, no API key, no subscription: an unpaid call answers HTTP 402 with the price, the payer signs a USDC authorization, and the tool runs.

  • MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP): https://legible-check.ezealfa.workers.dev/mcp
  • OpenAPI: https://legible-check.ezealfa.workers.dev/openapi.json
  • Health: https://legible-check.ezealfa.workers.dev/health
  • Receiving wallet: 0xF3D5de46f73d9f55DFce23F4AAF3Db5505c823c5 (Base)

The server answers JSON-RPC 2.0 over POST /mcp, and also in text/event-stream frames when the client sends Accept: text/event-stream.

Methods: initialize, tools/list, tools/call.

Chains: base, polygon, arbitrum (pass ?chain= on HTTP, or chain in the tool arguments).

How payment works

  1. Call a tool without payment. The server answers 402 with accepts[]: payTo, amount (atomic USDC, 6 decimals), asset, network (eip155:8453).
  2. Sign an EIP-3009 TransferWithAuthorization for that amount.
  3. Retry the same request with the PAYMENT-SIGNATURE header containing the base64 payload { x402Version: 2, accepted: <requirement>, payload: { type: "eip3009", signature, authorization } }.
  4. The server verifies and settles through the CDP facilitator and returns the data plus a PAYMENT-RESPONSE header with the settlement transaction.

Parameter names are query parameters on HTTP (?address=, ?token=, ?hash=, ?chain=). Unsupported chains are rejected with 400 before any payment is requested.

Why this exists

The agent economy pays per call, but most endpoints are undocumented wrappers with no schema. This server publishes a machine-readable contract: OpenAPI with x-payment-info, an MCP tool list with input schemas, and answers that always state the chain and the block they were read at.

Tools

evm_block

Block number on Base: the latest block height, timestamp, age, base fee, gas used and transaction count. Use it when an agent needs the current block number or the chain head. Price: 0.001 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterschain

evm_gas

Gas price on Base in gwei, split into base fee and priority fee, with the block it was read at. Use it to estimate gas fees before sending a transaction. Price: 0.001 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterschain

evm_balance

Wallet balance on Base: the native ETH balance for any address, in wei and ETH, with the block height it was read at. Use it to read a wallet balance. Price: 0.002 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterschainaddressrequired

evm_token_balance

Token balance on Base: the ERC20 balance of an address, with raw units, decimals and the token symbol resolved on-chain. Use it to read a token balance. Price: 0.003 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterstokenrequiredaddressrequired

evm_nonce

Wallet nonce on Base: the next transaction nonce for any address. Use it to build a transaction without racing the mempool. Price: 0.002 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterschainaddressrequired

evm_tx

Transaction lookup on Base by hash: decoded from, to, value, nonce, gas and max fee, and whether it is mined or pending. Use it to inspect any transaction. Price: 0.002 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parametershashrequired

evm_receipt

Transaction receipt on Base: success or reverted, block, gas used, effective gas price, log count and created contract. Use it to confirm a transaction or read its status. Price: 0.002 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parametershashrequired

evm_transfers

ERC20 transfers on Base for an address over the last N blocks (default 5000), newest first, with tx hashes. Use it to list incoming token transfers. Price: 0.003 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parameterstokenblocksaddressrequired

crypto_price

Crypto price and token price in USD with 24h change and market cap for one or more CoinGecko ids (bitcoin, ethereum, solana, ...). Use it when an agent needs a current price before quoting or sizing a trade. Price: 0.001 USDC per call over x402 on Base.

Parametersvsids

dex_quote

DEX quote and liquidity: live pair quotes for a token or pair query, with price in USD, liquidity and 24h volume across chains. Use it to compare venues before a swap. Price: 0.002 USDC per call over x402 on Base.
