Find where your notes disagree — contradiction detection for markdown vaults.
The publisher's own server: check.tattoo: tattoo size and placement guide
Overview
Scans a markdown vault for note pairs that overlap in concepts but conflict numerically or by negation.
- What you can do
- Runs locally over a markdown knowledge base and finds pairs of notes with high concept overlap that disagree. It detects quantitative conflicts (different numbers with the same unit on the same concept) and negation conflicts (one note says X is not Y, another says X is Y). Free tools scan the whole vault or check a specific pair; paid tools extract claims from a single note and generate an LLM-ready reconciliation prompt.
- When to use it
- Useful when a markdown notes vault has grown large enough that conflicting statements may go unnoticed, or before strengthening or reusing notes in a retrieval workflow. It surfaces disputes so they can be resolved rather than propagated.
- Requirements
- Runs as a local process; Python 3.10+ and the mcp-contradiction-check package, typically launched with uvx. No authentication is declared. The optional Pro license is supplied via the CONTRADICTION_CHECK_LICENSE environment variable, a CLI flag, or a local license file, and is verified offline.
Installation
In SourceWeft
- Open Mcp Contradiction Check in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
- Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Desktop only via STDIO. STDIO servers start a local process, so they need the SourceWeft desktop host.
Other MCP clients
Follow the launch instructions in the repository.
README
mcp-contradiction-check
Find where your notes disagree — contradiction detection for markdown vaults.
Find pairs of notes in your markdown knowledge base that have high concept overlap but disagree — quantitative conflicts (different numbers with the same unit on the same concept) and negation conflicts (one note claims "X is not Y", another claims "X is Y"). Prevents knowledge corruption by surfacing disputes before they propagate. Designed to pair with hebbian-vault's usage-weighted retrieval to flag notes that shouldn't be strengthened yet.

How complete this listing is, computed from the registry entry, the endpoint and public sources. Not a rating of the server and not a statement that it is safe or working today: reachability is a dated check, and no installs or reviews go into the score.
