A free remote MCP server that gives a U.S. law firm a 12-question, 100-point check of how safely it uses generative AI.
What you can do
Retrieve the 12 AI Practice Risk Check questions, each with options a, b and c
Score the answers out of 100 across seven areas and get the three weakest areas with one next step each
Get a short general summary of the ethics duties covered by ABA Formal Opinion 512
When to use it
Useful when a U.S. lawyer or law firm wants a quick, structured self-assessment of its generative AI practices, or wants a plain-language reminder of the ethics duties that apply before adopting AI tools.
Requirements
Remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no package, account, API key, environment variable or header is declared.
Before you install
The scoring is a general self-assessment, not legal advice; the ethics summary is general and states adopt their own rules and guidance, so results should be checked against the applicable jurisdiction. Answers about firm practices are sent to a third-party service.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.github.sustany%2Falcbar-ai-risk-check/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
Use when a U.S. lawyer or law firm wants to check how safely their firm uses generative AI. Returns the 12 questions, each with options a, b and c. Ask the user every question, then call score_ai_practice_risk with their answers.
Takes no parameters.
score_ai_practice_risk
Score AI Practice Risk Check
Scores the 12 AI Practice Risk Check answers from get_risk_check_questions. Returns a score out of 100 (higher is better), results in seven areas (ethics, confidentiality, verification, supervision, vendor risk, cybersecurity, competitive readiness), the three weakest areas with one next step each, and a link to the full report. Answers are not stored. Show only what this tool returns, follow its instructions_for_assistant, and do not add your own action plan or advice.

explain_ai_ethics_duties
Explain AI ethics duties for lawyers
Use when a U.S. lawyer asks what ethics duties apply to using generative AI. Gives a short, general summary of the duties covered by ABA Formal Opinion 512 (July 29, 2024): competence, confidentiality, communication, candor, supervision and fees. States adopt their own rules and guidance, so always tell the user to check their own jurisdiction.
