Overview

AI-generated overview

Hosted Quickbase MCP server that lets an assistant inspect apps and tables, query records, run reports and formulas, and insert or update records.

What you can do
  • Inspect an app: get app properties and variables, list roles, tables, table relationships, fields and field details
  • Explore reports: list a table's reports, read a report definition, and run a saved report with paging
  • Query records with a where clause, sort, group and selected fields, and evaluate a formula against a table without saving anything
  • Look up account users by email or list them
  • Insert or update records in a table, optionally merging on a unique field
  • Check monthly usage, request a missing feature, and manage or cancel a paid plan
When to use it
Useful when you work in Quickbase and want an assistant to explore an app's structure, pull and summarize records or saved reports, test formulas, or write new and updated records without leaving the chat.
Requirements
A remote MCP endpoint added by URL only; no local install. Sign-in is by OAuth, and on first connect you supply your Quickbase realm and a Quickbase user token, which the server stores per user. Some tools, such as listing app roles, need admin access to the app.
Before you install
The upsert tool writes live data and changes records, so confirm before running it. Your Quickbase realm and user token are stored by the third-party host. Usage is metered: the free plan allows 50 tool calls a month, and paid plans are billed through a checkout link the assistant can return. Cancelling Pro stops it at the end of the paid period with no refund for the current period.

Installation

In SourceWeft

  1. Open Quickbase MCP by usefulapi in the dashboard and add it to a workspace.
  2. Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.

Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.

Use with an agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.

Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/io.usefulapi%2Fquickbase/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.

Read the install guide the agent follows

README

Quickbase MCP by usefulapi

Use your Quickbase account from Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client. Query records, run reports and formulas, and insert or update records. Hosted, no local install: connect with your own credentials.

Live endpoint: https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp · Homepage: https://usefulapi.io

Connect

  • Claude (claude.ai, Desktop): open Customize → Connectors, click + Add → Add custom connector, and paste https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http quickbase https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp, then run /mcp to log in.
  • VS Code: Add to VS Code.
  • Cursor and other clients: add the URL as a remote MCP server:
json
{  "mcpServers": {    "quickbase": {      "url": "https://quickbase.usefulapi.io/mcp"    }  }}

Add only the URL. Do not add an Authorization header or an API key to the client config: the server signs you in with OAuth, and the login page asks for your Quickbase credentials.

Step-by-step setup, where to find your credentials, and FAQ: https://usefulapi.io/quickbase/

On first connect you provide your Quickbase realm (the part before .quickbase.com) and a Quickbase user token, which you create in your Quickbase user settings. The server validates them and stores them per user. No keys go in config files.
