Remote MCP server that lets an assistant find nearby places, search places in a city, and convert between addresses and coordinates using OpenStreetMap data.
What you can do
Search places of a given kind in a city or area, with address, coordinates, hours, website and phone when known
Find places of a kind around a coordinate or address, nearest first with distance in meters
Geocode an address, place name or city into coordinates and a full address
Reverse geocode coordinates into the nearest street address, postcode, city and country
When to use it
Useful when someone asks for restaurants, pharmacies, hotels, ATMs, charging stations or similar in a city or near a location, or when coordinates are needed for a map, distance or weather lookup and vice versa.
Requirements
A remote streamable HTTP endpoint; no key, account, environment variables or headers are declared. Network access to the endpoint is required.
Before you install
Results come from OpenStreetMap community data: no ratings, and opening hours may be out of date, so users should verify. Attribution to OpenStreetMap under ODbL is expected. Queries reveal the places and locations a user is interested in to the remote service.
Enable the server for the chats that should use its tools.
Web executable via Streamable HTTP. Remote servers run from the web runtime once configured in a workspace.
Use with an agent
Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or another agent — or into SourceWeft chat. The agent reads this server's install guide, shows you its publisher, endpoint and sign-in, and adds it to your client once you agree. Keys never go into a command.
Read https://sourceweft.com/mcp/com.faceabot%2Fplaces/install.md and connect the MCP server it describes to my client. Before changing any config, show me its publisher, endpoint and sign-in method and wait for my OK. Never put an API key in a command or in a file I would commit; ask me where it should come from.
